Introduction to Global Talent visa - Digital Technology
Applicants who wish to work in the UK in Global Talent visa – Digital Technology need to be talented and promising individuals with technical or business skills. Tech Nation will determine whether the applicants are leaders or potential leaders in this field. Those under this Global Talent visa are not tied to an employer and can be employed or self-employed as they wish. They can also study on a full and part-time basis. One will also have to be 18 years or over.

Endorsement
The applicant will have to be endorsed by Tech Nation. They can endorse those who can demonstrate proven technical expertise in building, using, deploying or exploiting a technology stack and building technical infrastructure.
Tech Nation can also endorse business applicants who can demonstrate a proven commercial, investment, or product expertise in building digital products or leading investments in significant digital product businesses.
The applicant will need to provide 3 letters of recommendation in support of your digital technology endorsement application.
It is important that the applicant reads the guidance from the specific endorsing body in detail and include all the information needed. The endorsement fee is £456.

Requirements by the Tech Nation
For those applicants who wish to qualify for UK tier 1 visa based on ‘Exceptional Talent’, you will need to have been recognised as a leading talent in the digital technology sector. The applicant will need to satisfy two of the four criteria:
- Have demonstrated exceptional ability in the field by making academic contributions through research published or otherwise endorsed by an expert.
- Have a proven track record for innovation as a founder or senior executive of a product-led digital technology company or as an employee working on a new digital field or concept.
- Have made significant commercial, technical, or entrepreneurial contributions in the field as either a founder, senior executive or employee of a product-led digital technology company.
- Have proof of recognition of work beyond your occupation that contributes to the advancement of the field.
For Tech Nation to endorse based on ‘Exceptional Promise’, the applicant will need to have been recognised as having the potential to be a leading talent in the digital technology field. The applicant will have to satisfy two of the four criteria:
- Have made significant commercial, technical, or entrepreneurial contributions in the field as either a founder, senior executive or employee of a product-led digital technology company.
- Have at least two examples demonstrating exceptional ability in the field by making academic contributions, or thorough research endorsed by an expert.
- Have at least two examples of innovation as a founder of a product-led digital technology company or as an employee working on a new digital field or concept.
- Have proof of recognition for work beyond your occupation that contributes to the advancement of the field.
Visa Process and fees
Once the applicant has been endorsed, the applicant will then be able to go through the visa process. There is no English language or financial requirement. Most applicants will need confirmation of endorsement, a valid passport and a tuberculosis test result if from certain countries.
Standard applications made inside the UK should be processed within 8 weeks and those outside the UK should be processed within 3 weeks. Visa fees for in-country and overseas applicants are £152 and £97 if one is from certain countries. If the applicant is including their partner or children in their application, they will each need to pay £608. This is on top of the endorsement fee. The applicant will also need to pay the health surcharge fee which is usually £624 per year.
